Three workers killed, two injured as 10-wheeled truck hit pickup

Three workers were killed and two others injured when the driver of a 10-wheeled truck dozed off and crashed into a pickup transporting factory workers in Nakhon Ratchasima on Tuesday morning.

Police said the accident happened at 6.58am on Mittraparp Road in Tambon None Thong of Nakhon Ratchasima’s Si Khiew district.
The three killed workers were identified as Siriyaporn Khanakhewua, 40, Thaweesilp Changmai, 29, and Wiroj Kijdiew, 38.
Police said Naruemol Upama, 44, and Sawana Prueksa, 25, were injured and taken to Si Khiew Hospital.
The 10-wheeled truck was driven by Thaweerat Nalinkamolrat while the pickup’s driver was Preechapol Raksasuwan, both whose ages were unknown.
Preechapol said he was picking up workers at the Funai Thailand factory in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Pakchong district and stopped to meet others on the way when the truck rear-ended his vehicle.
Thaweerat told police that he had fallen asleep and lost control of the truck.
