Firefighters with three engines battled to prevent the flames from reaching villagers&rsquo; homes nearby and they managed to control the blaze by the early hours of Monday.

Fire damages 30 rai of forest in Phang Nga

A fire broke out at a peat swamp forest in Phang Nga's Takua Pa district on Sunday night, destroying 30 rai of land. Police said the fire started at 11.30pm in Ban Bang Sak village, Tambon Bang Muang.
