Man, 65, sought over death of son, ex-wife in Nong Khai

Nong Khai police are searching for a jealous 65-year-old man who allegedly killed his own son and ex-wife in Nong Khai’s Pho Tak district on Tuesday night.

Police claim Kanit Rakpenthai 65, shot his son, Anuwat Rakehpenthai, 15, when the boy tried to prevent him from attacking his ex-wife, Wanna Kaew Pradab, 40.
Anuwat was shot once in the neck, while Wanna was hit three times. Wanna’s boyfriend, Prachathip Fafon, 39, was attacked with a knife and received severe injuries to his head and right hand.
The Pho Tak police station was alerted by neighbours and officers arrived at the rented house in Tambon Dan Srisook to find the the body of Anuwat at the back door and Wanna in the bathroom. Neighbours took the injured boyfriend to hospital.
Neighbours told police that while Wanna was having dinner with Prachatip, Kanit arrived on a motorcycle and Anuwat arrived soon after.
They heard Kanit quarrelling with Wanna while Anuwat was heard telling his father to return home. Then, five gunshots were heard. Neighbours who came to check the scene found the two bodies and the injured man.
Police later found Kanit's motorcycle and a .38 revolver in a rubber plantation about two kilometres from the scene.
