Mahasarakham fields 30 teams to administer rabies vaccinations

Muang Mahasarakham municipality on Thursday began rabies vaccinations for 30 communities after 15 dogs tested positive for the virus in the province since the beginning of the year.

Mayor Kittisak Khanasawat said he had dispatched 30 teams of officials to provide free rabies shots to dogs and cats.
He said there were about 3,300 stray and pet dogs and cats in the municipalities.
Kittisak added that 15 stray dogs in the northern province, including three in Muang district, had tested positive for rabies.
In the latest case, a dog at Wat Pa Supamit in Tambon Talad tested positive, he said.
