Group seeks volunteers for trash collection
A garbage-collecting activity on April 5 to protect the environment at Klong Son Bay’s Koh Chang Noi and Koh Mapring in Trat province is seeking volunteers.
The invitation was extended on the Facebook community page “Trash Hero Koh Chang” (facebook.com/trashherokohchang/).The activity will be held from 8.30am to noon.
Those interested in taking part should show up at the meeting point at the Saphan Klong Son pier at 8.30am. Those who come in cars can park at the nearby Wat Klong Son, the page said. Volunteers should come with footwear suitable to cope with a gravelly beach, and a pair of cloth gloves, the page said.
The group’s previous garbage collection exercise was held on March 26. Thirty volunteers on 10 small boats collected 1.8 tonnes of garbage within two and a half hours from the Klong Prao and Kai Bae Beach areas.
