Officials from the Tambon Ao Nang Municipality on Wednesday called on other government agencies to send reinforcements to crackdown on vendors hawking to foreign tourists at Ao Nang beach in Krabi's Muang district.

They said a lot of tourists had filed complaints with the municipality that they were bothered while they were relaxing and they were being asked to buy food and drink all the time.
The officials tried to arrest the vendors on Wednesday morning, resulting in a confrontation and tussle. Eventually, only three vendors were arrested and fined Bt2,000 each.
