Pol Capt Phakkapol Poonperm of Lua Amnart police was alerted at 3:30am that a car was found on the village road.
The body of Duanchan Thaweephan, 33, was found on the back seat. Her head was covered with a plastic back and her right eye was bruised like it had been punched.
Her father, Anan Sophalun, told police that his daughter was a businesswoman travelling between Bangkok and Chachoengsao regularly.
Her cousin, Pichit Sophalun, said he posted on a Chachoegsao community Facebook page on Wednesday, seeking clues about her whereabouts after her mobile phone was turned off.
Police reported that witnesses and security cameras said the woman drove around central Chanchoengsao downtown on Wednesday morning, withdrawing money from ATMs.
Police said no cash was found in the car.
