Mum, 90, reunited with daughter after 20 years

Prawing Kwangmuang, 65, said on Friday she thought her mother, Wong Sa-ngiamsungnone, had died. She only learned she was still alive last month from reports about her in the social and mainstream media.
Wong’s plight made headlines after Facebook users shared photos of her collapsing house adjacent to the village of Ban Pong Daeng in Kham Thalay Sor district.
Government agencies stepped in to help and a bank account set up for her collected Bt200,000.
The district office, the province’s social development office and the 2nd Army dispatched representatives to build a new house for Wong, using part of the money donated.
Learning of her mother’s whereabouts, Prawing has moved in with her.
She said she left home to work in Phrae 20 years ago and kept in touch with her mother through letters.
When her father fell ill, her mother sold their house to cover medical costs. When her father died, neighbours invited Wong to live in an old house on their land.
Prawing said she went to look for her mother at their former home and the new owners told her Wong had died.
