Korat man killed after falling from train in Chachoengsao
A 58-year-old man was killed after he fell from a passenger train and was run over in Chachoensao’s Muang district on Friday morning.
Sayan Hamthaisong from Nakhon Ratchasima fell from the Bangkok-Aranyaprathet train, police said.
His body was found on the tracks between Preng station and Ban Klong Kwaeng Klun station. The train normally passes the area at 7.30am.
The man’s legs were amputated by the train and his left hand had a deep cut. There was a one-kilometre trace of blood leading from the direction of the Preng station to the spot where the body was found.
Police believe the man was standing in a train doorway when he slipped. They believe he tried to hang on for about a kilometre before his legs got caught in the track and were run over.
The man was initially unidentified until a train official found his bag and left it for police at the Bang Phra station, which is about two stations away from the scene.
