Over 100 houses in Lampang damaged by runoff after rains

More than 100 houses in Lampang province were hit by runoff from a mountain early on Saturday.

Officials said six villages in Tambon Ban Kha in Muang district were affected between midnight and 2am following heavy rains.
The six villages that were affected were: Ban Sob Khom, Ban Kha Klaong, Ban Thung Jo, Ban Kha Luang and Ban Huay Peng.
Troops from the 32nd Army Circle helped officials from the Lampang Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office to rush assistance to the affected villagers on Saturday morning.
They distributed bags of necessities to the villagers and helped them clean up their houses.
The disaster mitigation officials will later survey the damage to seek compensation from the government for the villagers.
On Saturday morning, Suk Thaithanakan, the mayor of Tambon Bandong in Mae Moh district, distributed tiles to owners of some 100 houses in seven villages that were damaged by thunderstorms on Friday night.
