Police search factory after food supplement complaints
Police searched a factory in Pathum Thani province on Sunday in connection with a well-known food-supplement brand, which is facing allegations that it has sold products without proper licences.
Magic Skin Co Ltd has been accused of unauthorised use of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) marks and producing substandard products.
Police investigated the allegations after several consumers lodged a complaint.
On Saturday, police arrested eight suspects for their alleged roles in the company and froze the firm’s assets. The firm’s bank accounts reportedly had a cash flow of over Bt100 million.
Tourist Police Division 3 chief Pol Maj General Angkoon Klaikleung said on Sunday that the suspects said they hired a factory in Pathum Thani for product manufacturing.
As a result, the search was conducted at the plant. Chemicals at the site were collected for examination.
