Pregnant driver terrorised by biker high on drugs in Malaysia

Balik Pulau - A motorcyclist became aggressive after an accident and used a hammer and helmet to break the windows of a car driven by a pregnant woman.

In a video captured by a bystander, the female driver and male rider, who is believed to be under the influence of drugs, can be seen arguing, presumably over compensation for the accident.

Balik Pulau OCPD Supt A. Anbalagan said that when the 27-year-old female driver asked the motorcyclist to follow her to a nearby police station, things turned ugly.

"The suspect broke the driver's front, side, and back windows with a hammer and a helmet. He then made a run for it," he said

Supt Anbalagan said they arrested the man about three hours after the accident at his house in Bayan Lepas.

He added that the 31-year-old suspect has five previous criminal records including three for drug-related offences.

The incident took place at a junction in Taman Sungai Nibong near Bayan Baru in Penang at 8.42am on Thursday (April 26).

Police are investigating the case under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage, which carries a jail term of up to five years, a fine or both upon conviction.

He will also be investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
