Bt200,00 in valuables stolen from Chon Buri home

Burglars broke into a house in Chon Buri’s Bang Lamung district on Saturday night, ransacking the place and getting away with valuables worth more than Bt200,000.

The home owner, Anupong Oonboonma, a 34-year-old employee of Hilton Pattaya Hotel, said the stolen items included gold ornaments he had prepared as a dowry for his marriage to his girlfriend in November.
At least two burglars broke into the house via the back door and robbed it while Anupong and his girlfriend, Thippawan Laopim, 32, were working. Anupong, who finished his shift first, came home around 8pm to find the place had been ransacked and alerted police.
Nong Preu investigator Pol Lt-Colonel Theethat Tarunchan went to inspect the one-story townhouse in Soi Pornprapanimit 7 at 12.30am on Sunday.
Police said it appeared that the criminals also tried to steal Anupong’s car that was parked in the garage, but they couldn’t break open the padlock on the gate. Police collected fingerprints at the scene and are searching for the culprits.
