Woman driver of pickup killed in head-on collision
The woman driver of a pickup was killed and six passengers in her vehicle severely injured following a head-on collision with another pickup that lost control and veered into her lane in Chanthaburi province on Monday morning.
The accident happened near the Salaeng intersection in Moo 1 village in Tambon Salaeng, Muang district.
Police said the unidentified woman driver was trapped in her seat and died shortly after she was extricated from the pickup wreckage.
Six passengers were severely injured and rushed to a hospital.
Prasit Apichitwongnuchit, 48, the driver of the other pickup, was slightly injured. He told police that his pickup went out of control because of the slippery road following heavy rains. It drove over a mid-road ditch into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the other pickup.
