Two arrested, 30 kg of meth seized in Bangkok
Police have arrested two alleged drug couriers after 30 kilograms of crystal meth or "ice" were seized in Bangkok.
Samut Prakan marine police chief Pol Maj Gen Thanapol Srisophan said the two suspects, Anirut Krathong, 27, and Chatchai Taemkeng, 19, were arrested in a sting operation on Tuesday after the drugs were found in a power pole in Muang Thong 2 housing estate on Soi Pattanakarn 53 in Bangkok's Suang Luang district.
Thanapol said an undercover officer in his marine police command has been talking with a drug suspect, identified only as Bee, since September until the suspect sent Anirut and Chatchai to deliver the drugs on Tuesday.
The drugs were left in the housing estate and the two suspects went to Don Muang airport to wait for their money.
A team of police officers went to seize the drugs and another made the arrests, Thanapol said.
