Murder suspect jumps to death through moving train’s window in Nakhon Pathom

A murder suspect has died after jumping out of a moving training in Nakhon Pathom province on Saturday evening in an apparent bid to avoid prosecution, according to an ongoing investigation.

Buddhamondhol Police Station in Nakhon Pathom said it received the report on the death of Khanchai Janluen at about 5.10pm on Saturday.
Khanchai, 40, had just completed a jail term for drug-related and theft charges at the Thon Buri Special Remand. But instead of being released to freedom, authorities were preparing to hand him over to Songkhla Police Station to face legal proceedings related to a murder.
Two railway officials accompanied Khanchai during his train trip to Songkhla.
“He told an official who was on duty that he was hungry. So, the official moved away to get the food. When the official was just five metres away, the suspect reportedly jumped out of an open window,” said Pol Lieutenant Atirat Tipcharoenrat of the Buddhamondhol Police Station.
Atirat said Khanchai’s body has been sent for an autopsy.
