A male driver and his female passenger were killed when their speeding car crashed into a power pole on a road island in Nakhon Pathom and caught fire early on Monday.

The accident happened at 1 am on Phetkasem road at a u-turn spot in front of Wat Lad Yapraek in Tambon Sa Krathiam, Muang district.
The accident caused a major traffic jam with cars backing up on that section of Phetkasem road for about two kilometres.
Firefighters took about 20 minutes to put out the fire and found two charred bodies in the car, aToyota Camry.
Chinchote Wainam, 30, was found in the driver's seat next to Jiraporn Tongfa, 20, in the front passenger seat.
Police said the speedometer was stuck at 180 kilometres per hour and the dashcam recorded the woman passenger screaming before the crash, when the cam switched off.
