Tourists treated to beautiful view of morning mist over Mekong River

Tourists visiting the famous skywalk overlooking a cliff at a temple in Nong Khai were treated to a wonderful photo opportunity on Monday morning.

Following Sunday’s rain, a thick veil of mist rose up from the Mekong River bordering Nong Khai and Laos and could be seen from the skywalk of Wat Pha Tak Sua in Tambon Pha Tung, Sangkhom district.
The skywalk, which is made of glass and has been open since April 6 2016, has become a popular tourist destination in Nong Khai and so far has been visited by one million tourists.
The temple had originally opened the skywalk to tourists at 9.30am each morning but then decided to allow tourists to visit it from early in the morning so they could see the dawn mist rise above the river.
