Engineering student found stabbed to death

A fourth-year engineering student was found dead on Wednesday morning with a knife stuck in his throat and severe cuts on his chest and stomach in a house he rented with three other friends in Pathum Thani province.

Police are still investigating whether the fatal wounds on Siripong Ocharos, 24, were self-inflicted or it was a case of murder.
Siripong was a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Polymer Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi.
His body was found at 8.20am in the kitchen of a rented house on Soi Bancha Uthit in Tambon Rangsit in Thanyaburi district.
Pol Colonel Yutthaphum Pho-udom, inspector of the Thanyaburi Police Station, said a friend who went to the house to share breakfast with the four students found the body when he went into the kitchen to get some dishes.
When the body was found, a foot-long knife was found piercing his throat. There was also the trace of a shallow slash on the throat. A stab wound was also found on the chest. Another stab wound was seen on the abdomen.
A doctor determined that the student had died about four to six hours before he was found.
Kittisak Usup, 23, who found the body said when he arrived at house with the breakfast, he found his three friends sleeping in the bedroom and he found Siripong’s body in the kitchen.
Yutthaphum said police did not see any signs of fighting in the kitchen.
Yutthaphum said the four students were taken to the police station for further interrogation.
The friends claimed Siripong had received treatment for depression at the Chao Phraya Hospital but police have yet to crosscheck with the hospital.
