Fishing boats in Trang villages sunk by giant waves
Nine small fishing boats were sunk by giant waves at two fishing villages in Trang's Kantang district on Monday morning.
The boats, at Ban Koh Libong and Koh Mook villages in Tambon Koh Libong, were swept away after the Trang coast was hit by strong winds and heavy rain since Sunday evening.
The fishing boats were anchored at the beach and villagers could not yet salvage them as two- and three-metre-high waves continued to batter the shoreline.
About 70 houses in Koh Mook village also flooded by the heavy rain.
