Chinese tourists have been caught climbing on Krabi's landmark mud crab sculptures.

Krabi tourist police are tracking down the tour company that was in control of the tour.
A Facebook user "Tisa Kiw Guide" on Monday posted a video, saying “to tour guides who are taking care of these groups of Chinese tourists who are climbing on the sculptures, they might be damaged”.

Krabi City Deputy Mayor Channarong Leelaburanapong said: “Krabi tourist police have been contacted after we saw the video. The sculptures have not been damaged.
“Tourist police checked CCTV footage and found the Chinese tourists were travelling in a white tour bus. They are known to have stopped at the sculptures for about one hour. The police are tracking down the tour group to find which company they were travelling with.

“This has never happened in the past. Civil defence volunteers say they’ve stopped people in the past by blowing a whistle.
“We need a sign in Chinese to warn them that they cannot climb on the sculptures. Signs in Thai and English have already been put up.”
