King praises rescue efforts

King praises rescue efforts

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has issued his appreciation and thanks to all parties involved in finding the 12 young footballers and their coach who have been trapped inside Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district since June 23.

The King said he is pleased and greatly relieved to learn that the rescuers have reached the missing Mu Pa Academy team.
"I’m pleased and greatly relieved to learn the rescuers have reached all 12 youth footballers and coach of Moo Pa [Wild Boar] Academy Football Club.
“This is good news not only for all Thai people but also for those of other nations who have been following the event.”
Such an operation could not have been successful unless there is unity of effort exerted by all in a disciplined manner, supported by great knowledge, dedication and sacrifice, the monarch added.
“These people, including officials of Chiang Rai province, police officers, the military, medical officers, nurses, special operation teams, volunteers from all over the country, experts from abroad who travelled great distances and the mass media both from Thailand and beyond who provided full operational support as well as the public encouragement and concern, have given helping hands readily extended in complete disregard for self-interest.”
The statement said it showed the power of unity in action and the power of love and goodwill, regardless of ethnicity and religious beliefs.
“In this connection, I am pleased to extend the sincerest thanks and appreciation to all concerned and wishing them every success in the coming phase of this endeavour.
"May they proceed in great care, assuredness and wisdom, guided by an unwavering faith so that this rescue effort may fully achieve the ultimate success as all of you have wished.”
