A nervous former drug convict was arrested after police found a Kerry Express parcel receipt on him that led to 66,000 meth pills stuffed in a tyre being shipped from Chiang Rai to Phatthalung.

Muhammad Jeh-oh, 23, was arrested on Tuesday at 11.30am after police at a checkpoint in Chiang Rai’s Mae Chan district thought he looked nervous while driving his car.

Checkpoint police scanned the police database and found that he had previously faced drug charges. Searching him, they found a Kerry parcel receipt for mailing a spare tyre to Phatthalung.
Police asked Kerry to help them check the parcel, and found the meth pills hidden in the tyre.

The suspect allegedly admitted that he was paid Bt300,000 by a man in Phatthalung to smuggle the drugs to Chiang Rai. He said the drugs and the tyre were given to him at a resort in Chiang Rai’s Mae Fa Luang district on Monday night by two men.
He then allegedly used Kerry to try to mail the tyre to his friend’s address in Phatthalung.
