BMA to improve Klong Mahanak landscape

BMA to improve Klong Mahanak landscape

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will improve the landscape along Klong Mahanak in Pomprap district, BMA deputy city clerk Silapasuay Raweesaengsoon said Monday.

She said the canal near the Bobae Market has become an eyesore, with old and dirty structures along the canal banks.
BMA has assigned relevant agencies to study how improvements can be made.
Silapasuay added that the BMA intended to rehabilitate the pavilions and piers along the canal and remove any eyesores.
The BMA would also seek cooperation from the Prince Palace Hotel near the Bobae Market in improving the landscape.
One of Bangkok’s oldest canals, Mahanak has a walkway along its banks that is used by tourists to visit the several tourist sites, including the Temple of the Golden Mount.
She said as part of the improvements, the walkway would be improved and incorporate a bike lane. The work is slated for completion by December.
