It said: &ldquo;The Ofo bike head office in China has cancelled the project in Thailand, effective from August 28. 
&ldquo;The Ofo Thai Company will stop the service across Thailand and bikes will be collected from August 31. We apologise for any inconvenience.&rdquo;

The Ofo Bike project started with great fanfare just over a year ago but quickly proved unmanageable with people stealing bikes and dumping them in canals or bushland. 
The bike-sharing company has grown quickly over recent years but has had patchy success in Asia with reasons cited including poor publicity and management.

The Ofo Thai Company has officially announced the cancellation of its bike project to Phuket City Development (PKCD).
