Thailand’s monks university to offer master’s doctorate degree in meditation
The Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University will offer a master’s degree and doctorate programme in consciousness and meditation studies, a senior monk from the university said on Monday.
Phra Maha Hansa Thammahaso, director of the university’s International Buddhist Studies College, said the university had signed a cooperation agreement with the Dharma Gate Buddhist College in Hungary to provide the courses.
The courses are based on opinions and conclusions from an international academic seminar held recently on meditation, the director said.
The courses will start in the next academic year, he added.
