Body to rule on juvenile director’s future

Body to rule on juvenile director’s future

A Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection-assigned disciplinary probe committee is due to conclude whether to dismiss Phichit juvenile centre director Nusara Saennam with or without a pension by the end of the month.

The decision would follow the ruling by the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct to give her a five-year jail term for abusing a government vehicle for personal gain, said department director-general Sahakarn Petchnarin on Thursday.
The use of the vehicle for transport to work and during weekends and holidays on personal errands took place when Nusara started as the Phetchabun director in 2008 and led to a complaint being filed to the Office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), which led to a criminal prosecution, he said.
Sahakarn said the disciplinary probe committee, established last year, would submit its result to the Justice Ministry board by the end of October.
He said disciplinary and criminal action were two different procedures although the former could take the court ruling into consideration.
He said Nusara can still appeal against the verdict in the upper courts.
