Arrested Thai man alleged to work for Malaysian call centre gang

Crime Suppression Division police on Monday arrested a Thai man for allegedly being a member of a call centre gang led by two Malaysians.

Thana Jullawat, 26, was arrested in Nonthaburi’s Bang Yai district under a Chon Buri Court's warrant dated April 23.
His arrest came after officers from the Technology Crime Suppression Division arrested five Thais and two Malaysians accused of membership in a call centre gang.
The five Thais were charged with allowing the two Malaysians to use their accounts to deceive other Thais.
Thana said he has been hired to use ATM cards to draw money from accounts of five Thais. Those accounts were opened to receive money from the gang’s victims, and the cash was then deposited to another account.
Thana said he got about B1,500 to Bt2,000 per transaction.
