Boy okay after airlift by army copter from Mae Hong Son border
An helicopter was been dispatched from an Army base to evacuate a young man from a remote village in Mae Hong Son along the Myanmar border to hospital on Tuesday.
A Seventh Infantry Regiment helicopter along with a team of doctors from Sri Sangwan Hospital was flown in to evacuate Montree Pitikusolboonlert, 16, from his house in Moo 9 village in Tambon Mae Kong of Mae Sariang district at 6.30pm.
The Hospital was told that the boy had twice vomited blood and had blood in his stools as well as experiencing low blood pressure.
The boy was flown to the helicopter pad at Thep Sing Army Fort in downtown Mae Sariang, where a Mae Sariang Hospital ambulance picked him up for admittance.
The hospital later reported that the boy was now in a safe condition.
His house is located in a remote spot along the border, an area with poor roads that would have required a 10-hour drive to Mae Sariang Hospital.
