One killed, five injured in Pattanakarn flyover collision

A taxi driver was killed when his taxi was in collision with a pickup truck and a motorcycle on the Pattanakarn flyover over Srinakharin Road early on Saturday.

Prawet police were alerted to the accident at 4am.
Police said the taxi driver, Somsak Chuenarom, 59, was killed behind the wheel. His passenger, Tharon Charoenwiraisakul, 64, was among the five injured.
Police said the injured were in serious condition in hospital and could not yet give an account of how the accident happened.
Police believe the taxi and pickup were in opposite lanes and lost control in the middle of the bridge and collided because it was raining. The motorcycle then hit the two vehicles.
The pickup driver, Pirapol Arpornsri, 24, his passenger, Warapol, Sammawiwat, 25, a motorcyclist, Komkrit Kadnok, 19, and his pillion rider, Amornrat Kadnok, 26, were injured. They were taken to Petcharavej Hospital.
