Natthaphan Chansawang, 44, can blame the otters, who made enough noise to trigger neighbours’ complaints.
He was arrested on Monday morning after officials from the National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department raided his house in Moo 1, Tambon Samed, Muang district.

The otters were taken to a rehabilitation centre and will later be released in the wild.
Amnuay Trakulsupachai, who led the raid, said Natthaphan’s neighbours had complained about the noise to Si Racha-based Wildlife Conservation Area 2.
He said permits are required to keep wild animals.
