SCB eases repayment burden for Pabuk-affected borrowers

Siam Commercial Bank has launched measures to help its borrowers affected by tropical storm Pabuk, allowing them to suspend their loan repayments for an initial three months, it announced on Monday.

Its personal-loan customers, covering those with home loans, hire-purchase loans and credit-card loans, can ask to suspend their repayment instalments for three months.
After that period, if they still cannot work to generate income to pay back the loan, they can extend the debt moratorium for a further two months.
For small and medium-sized enterprise clients affected by the storm, they too can request an initial three-month moratorium, and can if required also seek an extension of their repayment period to three years, the bank said.
