Seminar a forerunner to Huawei’s 5G  Testbed launch in Sri Racha next month

Huawei, the giant China-based information and communications technology solutions provider, is showing its readiness for trial-phase implementation of fifth-generation technology by commencing its 5G Testbed on February 8 in Chon Buri’s Sri Racha district, the first such Testbed in the region

Meanwhile, a business leadership training seminar, in partnership with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency and gathering some of Thailand’s country’s top decision-makers, experts and entrepreneurs from the business and industrial sectors, marked today as the official start of the 5G Testbed.
During the three-day seminar, Huawei will highlight the advantages of the 5G ecosystem and explain in depth the 5G Testbed in Sri Racha, which will involve 360 AR/VR, Remote Driving, Multi-HD VDO and Smart Bus. 
Contributions from international experts are also expected to shed light on 5G-driven innovations and inspirations, industry trends, business-use cases and other key technologies that will take this early adoption of 5G to the country to help reshape corporate strategies.
Huawei continues to boost its investment in Thailand through the 5G Testbed in a real-world setting, worth a total of Bt160 million, the company said. 
The Testbed is designed to serve as a research and development centre for new technologies with experts and researchers offering consultations, and a full range of new innovations that will enable more connectivity and open their doors for future economic development with the proven business models. 
Industry partners and start-ups will be able to test and speed up innovations, which will further enable sustainable business growth.
“Huawei is strongly committed to supporting the 5G Testbed, initiated by the Digital Economy and Society Ministry. The 5G sites are located at Kasetsart University’s Sri Racha campus. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has been tasked to provide spectrum ranges for the 5G trial, in cooperation with major mobile operators and Internet service providers,” Digital Economy and Society Minister Pichet Durongkaveroj said at the opening of the forum. 
“To build a strong 5G ecosystem, Huawei and the Digital Economy and Society Ministry have jointly organised this three-day training to share insightful information and benefits of 5G to propel Thailand’s economy and stronger society,” he added.
