Woman criticises hospital and police after her father is robbed, left for dead in car park

A woman has alleged that her defenceless father was robbed by a security guard at Nong Khae Hospital in Saraburi, who left him for dead in the car park. It appears her father died after suffering a heart attack in the car park, she said.

The police are alleged to have let the thief go without punishment, and the hospital, which initially promised assistance, has done nothing except send a wreath to the funeral.
Twenty-five-year old Anucha Changsri was speaking to Manager Online on Monday after her father, 49-year-old Chayakorn Changsri, a taxi driver, had died in the car park of Nong Khae Hospital last week.
Anucha said he had headed off to work as normal from his home in Kumhak sub-district, Nong Khae, last Wednesday.
But, she added, as he was driving his taxi he suffered severe chest pains and drove himself to Nong Khae Hospital.
When he was getting out of his cab in the car park, he fell onto a metal spike sticking out from a lump of concrete.
By this time, he was lying motionless and it appeared he had suffered a heart attack, she told Manager Online.
Chaiyakorn, originally from Uttaradit, had been suffering from a heart condition, she added. The security guard in the following shift later found him dead, and police were called.
CCTV footage was examined, showing Anucha’s father collapsing and falling.
However, the security guard passed by and offered no help. He instead walked round the taxi twice before stealing her father’s wallet, Anucha said.
She thought it had probably contained Bt10,000, as she knew he was on his way to pay an instalment for a car later that day.
After the security guard had stolen the wallet, he casually strolled back to his booth.
Anucha said that while charges had been brought against the guard by police, they had let him go.
When they later went to arrest him at his accommodation behind the hospital, he had fled.
She believed that the security guard had been dismissed by the hospital the day after the incident.
Meanwhile, the hospital director promised that the hospital would help the family in any way they could, she told Manager Online.
“No representative of the hospital came to the funeral, they just sent a wreath,” she said.
