Phuket house burns after alleged arson attack

A fire has destroyed a house that was selling petrol bottles in Phuket Town earlier today, amid allegations of arson.

Witness say they saw a woman near the house before the fire started in Soi Hatchaniwet at around 1.50am.
Five fire engines were deployed but the house was already ablaze. It took 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. Petrol bottles were sold at the front of the bungalow.
Homeowner Kluay Hensantiea, 69, said her neighbours saw the fire start in front where she usually stored the 1-litre bottles of petrol for motorbikes.
They shouted to alert anyone inside. Kluay and two others escaped.
The neighbour has told police that she saw an unidentified woman carrying a petrol container and claims she the fire started soon after.
Police say they are investigating the alleged arson.
