Surin man, 88, killed by truck while sleeping it off
An elderly Surin man believed to have fallen asleep intoxicated by the roadside was run over and killed by a delivery truck on Wednesday morning.
Police said Nae Jongjairak, 88, was asleep near a grocery store in Ban Na Tawang in Bua Ched district.
Suriyan Sripanya, 43, delivering bottles of drinking water to the grocery shop in his pickup truck, said he did not see the old man but felt a bump.
He got out to check and found the man dead.
Residents said they saw Nae intoxicated on Tuesday night and believe he dozed off at the roadside.
