A religious ceremony was held at the hospital this morning. Then food and fruit were offered to the elephants.
There are seven elephants being treated at the hospital. Most of them had been working as elephant rides for tourists. Some of them were injured from accidents whilst others were suffering from a range of ailments.
A four-year-old male ‘Boonsawan’ from Phuket has been a patient at the hospital for more than a year after falling into a canal and breaking several bones.
