She was apprehended on Thepkrasattri Road in Baan Phon, Thalang, while driving a shiny new four-door pickup to Koh Lipe in Satun.
She told a neighbour that she had won first prize in the lottery, for which she had supposedly received Bt6 million.
Police discovered that she had been in jail before for theft and drugs offences.
Anusara told police that she had given Bt2.3 million in cash to her mother to buy land in Karon, but no one else knew about the money being kept in her house.
