His Majesty grants bathing rite for police officers killed in royal procession in Phitsanulok

His Majesty the King on Friday granted a bathing rite for a two senior police officers who were killed in a car that led a procession of a privy councillor to make merit in the province.

His Majesty graciously instructed AM Supichai Sunthornbura, deputy secretary general of the Royal Household Bureau, to deliver bathing water from the King and chair the royally-sponsored bathing rite for Pol Col Arkhom Changplaikaew and deputy Phitsanulok police chief, Pol Senior Sgt Maj Ekkawait Arjkong.
The bathing rite was held for the two officers at Wat Khuha Sawan in Phitsanulok’s Muang district at 5pm on Friday.
The two officers were killed in a police car that led the motorcade of the Phitsanulok governor and a privy councillor to deliver monk robes and necessities to elderly monks at a temple in Phitsanulok on Thursday.
Their car crashed head-on with a pickup truck that tried to overtake a vehicle and cut into the lane of the motorcade.
After the royally-sponsored bathing rite, the family will hold funeral rites for Arkhom at Wat Bang Bor in Samut Prakan while a funeral rite for Ekkawait will be held at Wat Nong Makham in Nakhon Sawan.
