Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat on Monday announced the award-winners at the Rachadamnoen Art and Culture Centre.
The ministry’s Contemporary Art and Culture Office presented the awards to seven quality contemporary artists.
The awards are mid-career prizes for artists aged between and 35 and 55, whose prominent works have been acclaimed both locally and internationally.
This year’s other three winners are architect Boonserm Premthada, who also teaches at Chulalongkorn University, dramatist and theatre director Damkerng Thitapiyasak, and prolific author Worapoj Panpong.
The ministry will present the Silpathorn Award pins and a cash prize of Bt100,000 to each of the winners in July.
Their works are being presented at a mini-exhibition at the Rachadamnoen Art and Culture Centre in July and August.
