Tourists prohibited from swimming in Krabi because of big waves
Park officials raised red flags at beaches in Krabi’s Ao Luek to warn tourists not to swim after monsoon winds caused two-metre waves.
Champen Phompakdee, chief of Koh Hong park protection unit, said his officers raised red flags on beaches at Ao Luek.
Lt Cdr Chaisiri Khundam, director of the Krabi Harbour Office, also issued a warning to operators of tourist boats and owners of fishing boats, prohibiting them from leaving shore on Thursday after the waves became strong.
