King grants cremation honour for Udon Thani man who drowned saving twins

His Majesty the King has granted a royally-sponsored cremation rite for a Udon Thani man who drowned after saving twins at a beach in Chon Buri.

The royally-sponsored cremation rite for Wutthichai Charoentham is being held at the Wat Pa Somtha Charoen in Tambon Chiang Yuen in Udon Thani’s Muang district at 4pm today (Saturday), presided by Udon Thani governor Wattana Putthichart.
Wutthichai drowned at the Sattahip Beach on June 9 when he spotted two teenagers who were about to drown. He swam out to help the two get back onto the beach but he became tired and was swept away by a giant wave.
The twins, Singha Wangplai, 15, and Suthangrt Wangplai, 15, who have a Buddhist novice and a nun novice to make merit for their hero, will also attend the cremation rite.
