A Lampang woman was arrested early Wednesday after being allegedly found with 5,430 methamphetamine pills just five months after completing a jail term for drug trafficking.

Pol Lt Col Piyaraj Kwampian, head of the narcotics suppression team of the Lampang police, said Ayothai Poolperm, 39, was arrested in a sting operation in front of a hotel in Tambon Suan Dok in Lampang’s Muang district.

Piyaraj said Ayothai was arrested after delivering 200 meth pills to an undercover police officer. Police later found 5,230 more meth pills in a hotel room where the woman was staying.

Police said Aothai had been out of jail for about five months after serving time for drug trafficking.
