Pol Capt Sinsamut Boonthassana, deputy inspector of the Sattahip police station, said when police arrived at the rented room in Moo 4 village in Tambon Sattahip, they found the body of Napasnan Khamsri, 28, lying on a mattress. She had rope marks around her neck and a nylon rope was still tied to the iron grille of a window.
The husband, Anon Mitrlub, 30, told police that he cut his wife down after returning to the room and finding her hanging.
He said he, his wife, and their ten-year-old son had been living in the rented room for a month. He said his wife wanted to visit a temple fair but he said no because he was worried about her pregnancy. Instead he and the son went off on a motorbike to buy her dinner.
He added that his wife had angrily told him and the boy to eat dinner outside and when they returned to the room, they found she had hanged herself from the window’s iron grill.
The body was sent for autopsy.
