Floodwater in the northern province Phayao has receded, prompting provincial governor Narongsak Osotthanakorn, as he inspected the damage on Thursday morning, to instruct disaster prevention and mitigation officials along with local administrators to aid the residents in clearing away debris and repairing flood-damaged roads and homes.

The heavy downpour-triggered floodwater inundated farmlands and people’s homes in Jun and Pong districts on Wednesday.

A total of 500 homes and one school in Jun suffered flood damage, mostly to people’s belongings that couldn’t be moved in time. Also, 30 homes in Ban Khok Moo of Tambon Na Prang in Pong suffered flood damage.
