Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) hosted the National Symposium on Restorative Justice 

Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) hosted the National Symposium on Restorative Justice, inviting Thai and international experts to generate discussions on the challenges facing Thai criminal justice.

The symposium aimed to drive the agenda of restorative justice into practical usage in the criminal justice system.

Prof. Dr.Surasak Likasitwatanakul, Chairperson of TIJ Board of Directors, gave the opening address (second from right) while Prof. Dr. Kittipong Kittayarak, Executive Director of TIJ (second from left), delivereda speech  on “Driving the Agenda of Restorative Justice into Thai Criminal Justice”.

The symposium also set mission, generated discussions and shared experiences on the policy and practical levels, gathering inputs from Thai and international experts, including Ms. Valérie Lebaux, Chief Justice at the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crimes (UNODC, far left), and Mr. Wanchai Roujanavong, Senior Prosecutor and Thai representative at the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Women and Child Rights (ACWC, far right).
