New public park to open in Bang Khae at end of month

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will open a new public park with access for pet dogs in Bangkok’s Bang Kae district at the end of this month.

Chatree Watanakhachorn, director of the BMA’s Environment Department said the70-rai Bang Khae Pirom Park on Soi Phetkasem 69 will be officially opened on August 30.
Chatree said BMA governor Aswin Kwanmuang will chair the opening ceremony.
The park has running and biking tracks as well as sports fields and a children’s playground. An area of the park has also been allocated as a dog park.
Chatree said construction of all facilities and buildings in the park is now complete, adding that Bangkok now has 7,814 parks and small gardens, providing green space to city residents at the ratio of 6.53 square metres per resident. The BMA plans to increase the ratio to 12 sqm per resident in the future.
