Man found hanged in car in northern Bangkok

A skilled worker of a construction firm was found hanged in his car in an alley in Bangkok’s Don Muang district on Thursday morning, police said.

Alerted by a taxi motorcyclist, police found the body of Prawit Naowarat, 31, hanged with a safety belt to a hand grip above the driver’s seat. A doctor determined that he died about five or six hours earlier.
A taxi motorcyclist spotted the parked car obstructing traffic in the small Soi Chang Uthit 3, so he took a look and saw the man hanged.
While police were inspecting the scene, Prawit’s wife Phatta Chanthawong, 27, turned up weeping. She told police Prawit was a skilled worker at the Ital-Thai company and she had been staying with him at the workers’ quarters at a construction site near the soi.
She said she had a quarrel with Prawit on Wednesday night after she complained that he liked to drink instead of save money for the family. After the quarrel, he drove out and she could not contact him, until she learned that he was found dead in his car.
The body was taken to Bhumibol Hospital for an autopsy.
