“The Transport Ministry’s projects currently underway are the high-speed train line connecting 3 airports, which will be signed on Thursday (October 24) and the U-Tapao airport development project, which is currently in the bidding process,” he said. “We will also have projects for Laem Chabang Port development and an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) centre, which should be completed around 2025 as planned.
“We have also discussed cooperation on road safety, since Thailand now ranks 9th in terms of global road casualties and this is of concern to the private sector,” Saksyam added. “AmCham will invite private companies including 3M Thailand and Dow Chemical to work with agencies under the Transport Ministry to enhance road safety in Thailand.”
Saksyam said his Ministry would be glad to answer questions and provide additional information on future projects, and thanked AmCham for its interest in investing in Thailand.
