Industry Ministry upgrades services to entrepreneurs

The Office of Industrial Economics (OIE) will improve its services to Thai entrepreneurs by adopting Digital Single Form and Big Data systems with effect from January in line with the digital government policy, Tongchai Chawaritpichet, OIE’s director, revealed last week.

“The Digital Single Form and Big Data systems will help increase capacity and rapidity of operations while reducing production costs, errors and overuse of resources,” he said. “The two systems will also help decrease redundancy in the data collection of each agency, facilitating entrepreneurs’ operations and driving Thai industry into the 4.0 era.”
The Digital Single Form system allows entrepreneurs to report the business information required by law online using a digital single form, thus reducing redundancy and doing away with unnecessary data.

The Big Data system meanwhile can analyze and process data collection from entrepreneurs around the clock. “It can analyze the economic situation at all levels – global, national, provincial or by factory” the director added.
“Thanks to this system, entrepreneurs can evaluate their factory’s capacity in comparison to industry as a whole. That evaluation will allow them to analyse their strong and weak points and then consult the Ministry of Industry’s free advisory service,” Tongchai explained.
Once the entrepreneurs know what they want to improve in their factory, the Big Data system will help them identify funding sources from financial institutions that have partnered with OIE. Other Big Data services include such privileges as industrial analysis and the improvement and promotion of projects.
“These privileges will be available for those who register and report their data through the single form system of Ministry of Industry” the director added.
